Andy Melton’s XAMPP Server Installation Tutorial
XAMPP Server
Finally, after the Thanksgiving holiday I am able to sit down and start this blog article. In this one I want to go
through the steps that are involved in setting up your own web server. This web server will be one that you can
actually use to host a real world website or you can use it for testing your website or application offline.
What is XAMPP?
I decided that the quickest way to get you up and running with your own web server would be to use Apache
Friend’s XAMPP. XAMPP is an application that combines Apache (the web server), MySQL (database), PHP
(scripting language) and phpMyAdmin (database administration) all into one.
Normally, to set up a web server you’d have to install each of those individually. With XAMPP, you install one
application and you have a fully functional server. Now, you’re probably thinking, “Well, if it’s that easy then why
is this blog entry HUGE!?” Well. The reason this is a large entry is I am going to walk you through all the steps of
setting up XAMPP AND make sure that you set it up so that it is secure!
The default XAMPP installation is meant for developers on a local network, not for a real world installation,
however, there are ways of making the installation secure and ready for real world use. Also, there are a few
other things we’ll need to do other than installing XAMPP to get things going.
Installing on Fedora Core 5
There are many distributions of Linux out there, my distribution of choice is Fedora Core. I prefer it because I’ve
always had the most luck with it and have friends who use it. The steps contained within this article could be
easily applied to Ubuntu or another distribution.
You may also be asking me why I am going to install this using an outdated version of Fedora. The main reason
for this is that I have not had the time to sit down and do an install of XAMPP and all the other needed
applications on Fedora Core 6 to make sure everything works. I know it works with Fedora Core 5 and 6 is still a
little buggy. Maybe next year when 7 comes out I’ll update this article for installing it on 6!

Borland® Optimizeit™ Suite provides developers with a complete
minimizing excessive temporary object use.
In light of today’s compressed development cycles, multi-tiered
architectures, and complex technologies, many organizations are
challenged to get stable enterprise applications out the door in a
timely manner. Devoting a small amount of energy throughout the
development process to address and correct performance obstacles
dramatically lowers the risks and costs associated with poorly
performing applications over the life of the code.

How Do I Make Money?
My first offer for adware was 3 cents per install. Since then I have continued to receive higher and higher offers. Most of the companies I have dealt with only pay for U.S. installs, but I am introducing you to a company that pays up to 25 cents per U.S. install and also pays for 36 other countries! Bear in mind that the amount per install varies depending on the specific adware you choose and the user’s country it is installed in. From my experience the most professional of all companies as well as the most lucrative has been Integrated Search Technologies.
Webmasters please note: I don’t recommend making an install required to view a site or part of a site. This is intrusive and will discourage people from viewing your site.
Make your Program More Popular
First, I recommend submitting your program to Upload.com. It costs $79, but it is well worth the money because it will display your product on Download.com which is the number one download site on the Internet. (Download.
com no longer allows products with adware.) Secondly, I recommend that you use rudenko.com to submit your program to hundreds of software archives for $70 and if you mention my name in the comments field you will receive a 10% discount.
Make your Website More Popular
If you have a website than you can promote your software for free by utilizing effective search engine optimization
techniques.

For this course you will need a simple text editor to write html codes. For example you can use notepad in
windows or any text editor in other operating systems. You will also need a browser like Internet explorer or
Mozilla Firefox. In this course we will assume that you are working in Windows 9X/NT/2000/XP/Vista.
Open notepad and type the following code.
Example 1-1: page1-1.html
<HTML>
Hello world!
</HTML>
Now save the text as “page11.html”. Notepad by default will add a “.txt” extension to every file it saves. To
make sure it will save your file with an “.html” extension you need to change “Save as type” setting in “Save
file” window to “All files” (Figure 1.1).

Adobe Illustrator is a graphic editing program well-suited to creating graphics from scratch. It is significantly different from many other graphics programs because it deals primarily with vector graphics. Most people are more familiar with bitmap (raster) graphics, such as what PhotoShop produces.
Bitmap graphics: saved using a grid full of tiny squares called pixels. Bitmap images are good for continuous and/or irregular shadings and colors (such as in photographs), but do not resize well.

Vector graphics:

saved using points and lines (vectors) to describe shapes and objects. The resulting file is made up of lines and patches of color. Generally much smaller files than bitmap graphics. When vector images are resized, there is no loss of quality.

When to Use Illustrator Intricately decorated eggs are traditional parts ofEaster celebrations in many parts of Eastern Europe.Pysanky are the style common in the Ukraine.A pysanka is created using a wax-resist technique.Patterns are drawn on the white egg with wax. Then the egg is dipped in a light-colored dye(typically yellow or orange), taken out, and dried. Then patterns are drawn on the yellow egg with wax.The egg is dipped into progressively darker and darkercolors of dye, and at each step, the parts of the eggthat should remain lighter-colored, are covered with wax. After the final color of dye (usually brown or black),the egg is held in a candle flame, and all the layers of are melted. The brilliant colors and complex patternscovered by the wax are revealed! The word “pysanka” (singular) or “pysanky” (plural)comes from the verb pysaty “to write”. Thus, pysankyare eggs that have been “written” on with wax!PysankyTry out some pysanky designs of your own!
Types of documents you might choose Illustrator to create:
